I love introducing people to flavor combinations they’ve never thought of!
Very few things can beat a good vanilla cake, or a simple warm brownie paired with a glass of milk. There’s nothing wrong with simple and classic, but if you’re wanting something just a little different, something romantic, something that makes you go wide eyed with excitement, then I am your person. Expand your friend’s and family’s tastebud horizons with a Honey and Lavender celebration cake, a Chocolate and Rose Petal Brownie tray, or an Earl Grey with Lemon cookie display. Let me help show the world your unique personality through flavor.
My Story
My introduction to baking first began with my Great Aunt Martha teaching me how to bake pies in her farmhouse, hidden in the woods of Bent Mountain, Virginia. Later on, like most teenagers I had no idea what I wanted to do after graduating high school, but I knew I enjoyed baking and was already fairly good at it, so I decided to enroll in the baking and pastry program at Johnson & Wales University Charlotte. During my sophomore year, I met my boyfriend who is a professional Balloon Artist and runs a bounce house rental business with his father.
When the Covid lockdown happened I really enjoyed the free time I now finally had, but I missed the joy and fulfillment that came from baking something beautiful and sharing it. After some research I found and joined the Mint Hill Farmers Market and have been a vendor with them for the past 4 years. Thanks to the market I have been able to grow Carly Cakes and now all of the wonderful customers that I have met over the years can now easily find and order their favorite desserts for any time of the year.
Interesting Info
If you’re still wanting to know a little bit more about me, I’ve added few sprinkles of interesting tidbits down below.
Fact 1
I finished off my last semester of college at the Waterford Institute of Technology in Waterford, Ireland, which is Ireland’s oldest city, at just over 1000 years old.
Fact 2
Disney World is my absolute favorite place to vacation at. I know that no matter the time of year I will have fun and stress free vacation.
Fact 3
I wholeheartedly believe that yellow mustard is the worst creation to ever exist. I can handle a little bit of Dijon mustard in my devilled eggs, but classic yellow mustard should be erased from the Earth forever.
